The Time My Brother Jumped Out of an Airplane

… And didn’t break anything. Lol. (He broke his wrist once practicing First Aid at Boy Scout camp!)

One of these people is my brother. I believe from last week.

Let’s file this under “Miscellaneous”

I feel like absolute crap thanks to my 4-day plus migraine so this will be brief.

1. Eddie is safely in Germany. Sadly, I missed his pre-boarding phone call because I went hunting for Clint in a torrential downpour.

Yes, my husband went on a long bike ride despite the fact it had been pouring buckets off and on all day. I eventually found him…3 blocks from our house. Read more…

Double-u Tee Eff

I thought I would share a list of the few things that made me go W. T. F. this week.

#1 Arizona dismisses the charges against FLDS leader Warren Jeffs.

Seriously? Are you friggin’ kidding me? I understand that the victims decided that they no longer wanted to pursue charges, but what kind of example does that set? And “health issues?” If he didn’t want to serve any more time, the least they could have done would be to get a plea bargain on time served so he copped to the crime! He’s on to Texas now and I’m fairly confident they won’t let him skate so easily! Read more…

Panic Attack

My brother’s leave is almost over, at which point he will be flying to Germany to serve as a commissioned officer for the United States Army.

He came over yesterday evening for dinner. I made lasagna rolls, we watched funny YouTube videos, and we discussed theoretical situations involving his power as an officer.

Eddie stayed until 10 and it was absolutely wonderful. It’s kind of amazing that we get along so well considering 15 years ago we used to beat each other up. Read more…

Knoebels!

I live in Central PA. And when you live here, it is an obligation to go to Knoebel’s at least once in your life. I personally have been at least 10 times, including in-utero. It’s the only family-owned, no admission, free parking, free picnic, and campground around. Or I should say the best.

Anyway, Eddie’s home and I really wanted to go and take Clint. No one at work could believe he’d never been! He grew up very close to Hersey Park, so I guess I’ll let it slide. We went on Saturday and I’m proud to report that no one was left and we all managed to get along. (Trust me, that’s a miracle.)

We’ve been really busy, Eddie’s only here for another week and then he’s going to Germany for 3 years. In addition, Clint and I went down and stayed in Harrisburg Tuesday night (after stopping at his parents’ for dinner) and then visited Gettysburg on Wednesday (with another stop back to the parents’ for free produce and homemade strawberry jelly).

Here are some quick shots from Knoebel’s Amusement Resort.

By the way, I totally didn’t know Eddie was giving me bunny ears. It was a miracle to get him to take the photo.

Plus Knoebel’s was really cool Memorial Day weekend. They gave the free all-day pass with wooden roller coasters to active servicemen and women with ID.

And also, my Mom wore white pants which she promptly got pizza sauce on. (I don’t know if you can see that in the photo.)
