15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
— Mark 16:15 KJV
22 For behold, thus said Jesus Christ, the Son of God, unto his disciples who should tarry, yea, and also to all his disciples, in the hearing of the multitude: Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature;
— Mormon 9:22
Are missionaries and Church leaders the only people who are responsible to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ? No.
Just as each person is capable – and is responsible – to serve others, all members including children can share the message of Christ through their actions.
It can seem like a daunting task! We’re not perfect! We do not have the practice either (like the aforementioned leaders). However, we can take promptings from the Holy Spirit to use our actions to “walk the walk” that the Church teaches.
Simple Ways to Do This:
- Bake a neighbor cookies.
- Invite a friend to church.
- Have a family night.
- Call your grandparents.
- Pray to Heavenly Father.
- Dress modestly.
- Babysit for a family.
- Visit someone in the hospital.
- Write a card to a shut-in.
- Take a walk with your spouse.
By doing these simple tasks, you are showing love, appreciation, and respect to yourself and others. That is what the Gospel teaches us about modeling ourselves after Jesus Christ.
